The large working memory (512/640kB) and the number of interfaces like Ethernet (S7-communication, TCP, UDP), Modbus (-TCP and -RTU), CAN (CANopen and Layer2), RS232 and RS485 (free ASCII) and optional Profibus DP V0 (Master, Slave) favors this units to be used as data logger, PDA-devices or gateways wit data preprocessing by S7.
